Getting close
Finally I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. On Saturday I get to move into my new house. This weekend was a killer for me. Three straight 14 hour days trying to get it ready for the final inspections took a toll. I couldn't help wondering the entire backbreaking weekend if it was really worth it. As I sit here writing this late on Sunday night I felt a big stress relieved as I realized, it's almost done.
All my life it has been a goal of mine to build my own house. I'm very happy that I achieved this goal. I could not have even attempted it without some important people and friends. My friend Kurt was the driving force in all this. He kept me motivated and sane throughout the entire process. Without him I would have never even attempted taking on the project. We did things from plumbing, to tile and granite, all the way down to painting and building a fence. Considering during this time we also worked on building his house next door, id say we kept busy. Thanks to Jessica and Eric my general contractors for putting up with all my complaints and changes throughout.
All in all it was a great experience, but I am not sure I would take it on again and am really glad it's almost over. I miss playing 50 hours of poker a week and can't wait to settle in and get back to work. The timing of it all is going to be perfect for me with the new merger about to be complete and the Aruba poker classic just 6 weeks away.
